Filters, shuffle and card flips
Choosing a theme, a time limit or an audience, rolling the shuffle die and flipping cards all happen on your own device. None of those choices is sent to us, and they vanish when you leave.
What we count
We do not ask for your name or email. A little script notes that the page loaded, the address that referred you, how far you scrolled and whether you used a practice button, plus your browser language, your operating system and a random code stored in your browser so repeat visits are not double counted. Your IP address only serves to guess your country and region and is not kept whole.
Where the counts go
The counts travel through this site's own server to an analytics provider, which stores them inside the European Union. They tell us which parts of the page are useful. They are never sold and never handed to advertisers.
Browser storage
We set no cookies. Your browser holds the random code, a visit marker that expires after thirty idle minutes, your light or dark setting and, if you closed it, the state of the bottom practice bar. Clearing this site's stored data deletes all of it. If scripts are blocked, the topics still show and nothing is counted.
Practice buttons
Each practice button opens /topic-practice on this site. That address checks your browser's user agent: Android devices continue to the Confidently app on Google Play, along with a note of which button was used, and every other device continues to the App Store. The address keeps no log. After that, the privacy terms of the store and of the app apply.
Deleting your data
Write to the address above and we will remove anything linked to your random code. Because nothing we hold identifies you, clearing the site data in your browser breaks the link at once.
